Stephens & Smith Omaha Foundation team recently completed a unique parking garage for the LinkedIn office building on 132nd and Pacific streets. Unlike most concrete garages the team is accustomed to pouring, this 1,800-cubic-yard project featured intricate ramp walls — with one being a double haunch wall with slope — and an exterior brick ledge. Project Manager Ryan Sadil said the crew did a great job keeping details in order and working with the general contractor, Lockwood Development. In fact, you might even say they got the details down to a “T.” “They had to do a precast to sit on the haunch, almost like the letter T,” Sadil said. “It definitely was something we don’t do often, and they did it right.”

Omaha Foundation Department continues impressive work for LinkedIn

Sadil said the crew, supervised by Foreman Elson Ortiz, put in more than 1,200 linear feet of cast-in place concrete for the wall and 1,107 cubic yards of footings, with 640 linear feet of those being 14-feet wide. The garage project began Dec. 15, 2019, and was completed Jan. 15. It followed the Foundation team’s construction of the two-building 200,000-square-foot LinkedIn complex last summer. LinkedIn is expecting to house as many as 1,000 employees in the complex by next year.
