For those of you that have any type of social media presence online, this message is for you.  Below is a list of Stephens & Smith accounts and related links you may enjoy.  The marketing committee has been working diligently to find ways to create more company exposure on the world wide web.  In doing so, the committee is working towards establishing social media accounts and creating blogs to increase our digital popularity.  The more digitally popular Stephens & Smith becomes, the more frequent our name appears on the web.  Utilizing specific techniques to increase our “Search Engine Optimization”, we have increased our online audience from an average of 2,500 people to now 7,500 people over a 30-day period.  When it comes to quantity, social media is by far the most economical technique to advertise our services and products.

I need to mention this type of exposure also comes with its own challenges. The messages in our company digital footprint reflect who we are and who we represent.  Our message will always be positive and professional, warding off haters and trolls.


Our most active and up until last year, our only social media outlet.  Currently, Stephens & Smith Facebook page has over 800 followers and each unpaid post reaches approximately 300-500 people.  Every employee that has a Facebook account should Like, Comment, and Share.


YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to favorites, report, comment on videos and subscribe to other users.  As of February 2017, there are more than 400 hours of content uploaded to YouTube each minute, and one billion hours of content are watched on YouTube every day. As of August 2017, the website is ranked as the second-most popular site in the world by Alexa internet, a web traffic analysis company.


Linkedin is a business employment oriented that operates via websites and mobile apps.  Launched in 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking.  There are many of our builders, General Contractors, and vendors on LinkedIn who see and interact with our posts.  Our LinkedIn account has been relatively stagnant over the past few years and we are working hard to increase engagement.


After its launch in 2010, Instagram rapidly gained popularity, with one million registered users in two months, 10 million in a year, and ultimately 800 million as of September 2017. In April 2012, Facebook acquired the service for approximately 1 billion in cash and stock. As of October 2015, over 40 billion photos have been uploaded to the service.  Stephens & Smith created an account towards the end of 2017 and is still very green with only 50+ followers.

Twitter is by far my favorite social media platform.  Specially to receive up-to-date news on events from all over the world.  The downside, Twitter is the platform where I witness the most trolls and haters.  They easily hide behind fake profiles.  It has taken me nearly a decade to gain a significant number of followers and content.  I personally don’t believe Stephens & Smith would benefit from having a business twitter account, so I just share S&S company posts via my own Twitter page.

Whether you are social or not, social media is undoubtfully a great tool to communicate to our employees, customers, vendors, and family members.  It’s extremely important that our content is engaging and professional, keeping our digital footprint clean.  Remember, not only do our employees and customers see our posts, but also our competition.  Have a safe and productive day!
